Precipitator T/R sets are amazingly reliable, have extremely long life-cycles, and require very little maintenance. The standard T/R service life is 20 years, but we have seen units twice that age still in operation.
There are a number of options available when deciding to repair or replace an old T/R, as shown in the table below:

Local transformer repair shops can handle fast repairs, and (in some cases) complete refurbishments. Their proximity allows them to quickly turn-around service work. Their lack of power conversion knowledge limits them to re-creating older designs but not improving them.
Transformer manufacturers have varying degrees of repair capability but usually are geared toward selling new equipment.
· Emergency repairs – guaranteed in 15 days or the labor is FREE
· Standard repairs – completed in 4-6 weeks; parts warranted for one year
· Exact replacement – Flange to flange replica with updated design and componentry
· Catalog replacement – pre-engineered units provide same electrical performance at lower price and faster delivery.
We will work with you to ensure the choice you make is best for your business and not based on what we have to offer.
ALL OUR WORK IS BACKED UP BY THE LONGEST WARRANTIES IN THE INDUSTRY
We also offer flexible programs that incorporate multiple options listed above. For example, our Phased Repair Program initially provides a customer with an exact replacement T/R set; the old T/R is then refurbished and put back in service.
When you’re trying to figure out what to do with your old T/Rs, contact us. We’ll do what’s best for you. Every time.
