PowerPlus Shipping Instructions

Returning a complete PowerPlus unit

  1. Mount the unit on the original shipping platform.  DO NOT SHIP THE UNIT ON ITS SIDE.  THIS WILL IRREPARABLY DAMAGE THE UNIT.
  2. If the platform is no longer available, fabricate one using Drawing #1 below.  Be sure to use lag screws to fasten each cross-member to the runners.  PowerPlus has a very high center of gravity; the pallet can pull apart if lag screws are not used.
  3. Secure PowerPlus to the platform using 3/8" x 2" lag bolts.
  4. Brace the unit to the platform using 2" x 4" pine.  Place the braces on either side of the switch.  The width of the brace should be 24"; measure for the proper length.
    1. Refer to Drawing #2 below for units with a round duct.
    2. Refer to Drawing #3 below for units with a square duct.
  5. Cover the entire unit in cardboard and then wrap in plastic film.
  6. Contact NWL for an RGA number if you have not already done so.

Returning the oil tank only

  1. Locate the shipping stand.  If switching out an old unit with a new one, the stand will be bolted to the shipping platform.
  2. If you are unable to locate the shipping stand, contact us, and we will send you a new one.  DO NOT SHIP THE TANK WITHOUT THE SHIPPING STAND.  DO NOT SHIP THE TANK ON ITS SIDE.  Improper shipping of the PowerPlus tank can result in damage to the rectificer board, switches, and bushing.
  3. Secure the shipping stand to the platform.  If you do not have a shipping platform, fabricate one using Drawing #1 below.
  4. Carefully line up the bolt holes on the stand with those on the tank.  Secure the tank with lag bolts.
  5. Wrap the exposed bushing with a foam sleeve or bubble wrap.
  6. Cover the entire tank in cardboard to prevent inadvertent damage to the bushing.
  7. Wrap tank with plastic film.
  8. Refer to Drawing #4 for additional information.
