Greater Functionality and Improved Safety

NWL announces the latest generation of PowerPlus, our switchmode power supply for electrostatic precipitator energization.  The highlights of this release are greater control functionality and enhanced safety features.   Version 6 units will ship beginning in Summer 2010 and will include the following improvements:

Control Function

• New control module (p/n G20845-01) utilizing Texas Instruments' latest Digital Signal Processor (DSP) technology
• Fieldbus expansion port module (optional) mounts directly onto control board, opening up the network ports for use with NWL DCSi - a simple interface module, or PCAMS, our precipitator control system.
• SD card slot facilitates future product upgrades and software revisions.
• Change in control layout for easier access to components
• Optional heater for cold weather operations
• An oil temperature sensor has been added to complement the existing heat sink temperature sensor
• Cabinet door has been widened to give more access to the new control module A sight glass on the high voltage tank for visual indication of oil level

NOTE:  The control module (p/n G20845-01) is a drop-in aftermarket replacement for older equipment (Versions 1 through 5) and will have no effect on  features or performance.

 Safety

• Limit switches have been placed on all doors without interlocking circuit breaker handles.  Activating a limit switch will shut down the unit.
• Optional prop rod is now available to lock the door open for servicing
